Safe Seed Pledge

We are committed to quality and sustainability.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

Your seeds have been germination tested and found to meet or exceed the Federal standards. We will honor all reasonable requests for replacement or reimbursement due to poor germination. Let us know if you have concerns about any other plants or products from this website, and we will similarly honor all reasonable requests for replacement or reimbursement.

Sometimes untreated seeds in the open ground may be eaten by birds, voles, mice etc. making transplants a more successful solution. We recommend starting all seeds in a soilless and free draining starter mix. Once your seedlings are ready, they can be transplanted directly to the garden area once the weather has warmed up.

Untreated and Non-GMO Seeds

All of the seeds that we sell are untreated (not coated with fungicides or insecticides) and non-GMO.

We DO NOT sell or grow any seeds that are Patent Variety Protected or Genetically Modified.

We have signed the Safe Seed Pledge

SAFE SEED PLEDGE:

Agriculture and seeds provide the basis upon which our lives depend. We must protect this foundation as a safe and genetically stable source for future generations. For the benefit of all farmers, gardeners and consumers who want an alternative, we pledge that we do not knowingly buy or sell genetically engineered seeds or plants. The mechanical transfer of genetic material outside of natural reproductive methods and between genera, families or kingdoms, poses great biological risks as well as economic, political and cultural threats. We feel that genetically engineered varieties have been insufficiently tested prior to public release. More research and testing are necessary to further assess the potential risks of genetically engineered seeds.

Organic Seeds

We strive to offer as many organic varieties as possible, but in order to offer a comprehensive and complete selection of seeds and plants to our customers we wild-craft very rare seeds such as northern paw paw or we work with other growers who are very specialized in their seed production systems.

Some of our seed varieties/species are so rare or obtained in very small quantities that it would be cost prohibitive to certify them as organic therefore they are sold without certification.

We post our organic certificate on line every year. We are inspected, approved and compliant annually.
