Wild Bergamot

Wild Bergamot, Monarda fistulosa, is a native wild mint found along the roadsides in the City of Kawartha Lakes Region. Conditions were prime last summer and the wild mint bloomed en masse.

This species has been traditionally used as a tea and is perennial to zone 4. The plants prefer to grow along ditches and dry areas in full sun. Seed is collected locally and pollinators love flowers!
