Chinese Long Bean is from the Vigna unguiculata family. All parts of the plant are edible and the roots fix their own nitrogen straight out of the air. Can withstand hot humid climates and drought conditions. The pods can be used in stir fry or pickled at a very young stage, The beans can be harvested dry much later at maturity to be used in soups or stews.
Long bean is one of the most important crops in Asia, South America and Africa. Well adapted to dry regions that other beans do not perform well.
Pods are shorter than the Silver variety but very popular for shorter growing areas. This variety is the earliest at 50 days maturity for young pods.
Strong upright plants, disease resistant and very productive.
