GUARANTEE

We are committed to quality and sustainability.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

Your seeds have been germination tested and found to meet or exceed the Federal standards. We will honor all reasonable requests for replacement or reimbursement due to poor germination. Let us know if you have concerns about any other plants or products from this website, and we will similarly honor all reasonable requests for replacement or reimbursement.

Sometimes untreated seeds in the open ground may be eaten by birds, voles, mice etc. making transplants a more successful solution. We recommend starting all seeds in a soil-less and free draining starter mix. Once your seedlings are ready, they can be transplanted directly to the garden area once the weather has warmed up and the threat of frost is no longer a concern.

UN-treated, UN-patented and Non-GMO Seeds

All of the seeds that we sell are UN-treated (not coated with fungicides or insecticides), UN-patented and non-GMO.

We have signed the SAFE SEED PLEDGE which states the following:

Agriculture and seeds provide the basis upon which our lives depend. We must protect this foundation as a safe and genetically stable source for future generations. For the benefit of all farmers, gardeners and consumers who want an alternative, we pledge that we do not knowingly buy or sell genetically engineered seeds or plants. The mechanical transfer of genetic material outside of natural reproductive methods and between genera, families or kingdoms, poses great biological risks as well as economic, political and cultural threats. We feel that genetically engineered varieties have been insufficiently tested prior to public release. More research and testing are necessary to further assess the potential risks of genetically engineered seeds.

Organic Seeds

We strive to offer as many organic varieties as possible, but in order to offer a comprehensive and complete selection of seeds and plants to our customers we wild-craft very rare seeds such as northern paw paw and we work closely with other growers who are very specialized in their seed production systems.

We post our organic certificate and organic production summary on line every year. Be patient in COVID-19, we have been inspected, approved, in compliance and we are waiting for our certificate for the 2021 year.

Seeds are living organisms and have a shelf life. Depending on storage, some species will last for many years, while others such as Trillium seeds may last only 6 months. We have germinated heritage corn seed that was 14 years old!

We guarantee the seed to be true to type and fresh.

Your growing results depends on many factors, including weather conditions and the skills and practices of the grower (such as soil preparation, proper planting technique, irrigation and weed control). These factors are completely out of the control of Canadian Organic Seed Company and are the sole responsibility and risk of the grower.

PLEASE NOTE:  that the comments and advice contained on the seed packets and our website are for educational purposes only and not a guarantee of performance of any seed product .  Any warranty / liability of Canadian Organic Seed Company is limited to the  purchase price of the seed packet only. We do not assume the risk of non-performance, reduced performance or crop damage arising from our seed products. Once the packet leaves our premises we have no control over how that packet of seed is managed or grown by the buyer.

Your comments and concerns are important to us. We would like the opportunity to remedy any gardening/seed queries you may have regarding seed starting/growing. If any seed item or garden accessory proves unsatisfactory, we will replace the item or credit your account, within 30 days of purchase and upon written notice.
