Catalpa- seeds

In Chinese medicine, the tea from the bark was used as a sedative, vermifuge and a laxative. The leaves are food for the Catalpa Sphinx moth in the larvae stage which have been used in recent times by fisherman for bait.

We prefer to use catalpa as an ornamental tree that produces large amounts of nectar for beneficial bees and insects to pollinate our crops and increase our honey production in our apiary.

Catalpa is a very fast growing tree and our genetics have been through the coldest of winters. Locally wild crafted from the hardiest trees. The tree you see in this picture was taken from our neighbour's property, a seedling that was planted from her mother's hardy tree many years back.
