Kale-Siberian Improved

Siberian kale means exactly what it suggests, that it is a kale that survives the harshest of climates in Russia. Siberian kale is shown green to the right in this photo.

A very close gardening friend of mine recommends this variety for freezing. She uses it in winter soups, pizza, stews and simply dried healthy snack watching late night Netflix series.

Tip:  sow seeds in a free draining soil mixture in early spring, plant out transplants when the soil is still cool and moist before hot dry weather advances. Brassica family do not perform well in hot and dry weather. Plan your plantings in early spring or end of summer when the weather is more conducive to the Brassica family species.
