A very popular open pollinated watermelon grown in California that matures in 90 days in a warm summer season. It is sweet, has dark red flesh and can grow to 30 pounds. Great for smoothies, wine and vinegar. Freeze and cube the flesh for winter use.
We start our watermelon seeds mid May to transplant out to fertile warm garden soil June 10th in full sun. Growing in raised beds will increase the soil temperature which will grow watermelons to their full potential.
