We grow Asian Water Chestnuts (Eleocharis dulcis) throughout the spring, winter and fall. Lift for winter storage. Technically, the water chestnut is a type of sedge. Can be a fun school science project or simply grow in a pond. Is not frost tolerant.
Thrives best in zone 9 or greater. Matures in 7 months. We start the corms in the greenhouse in spring and they are ready in September.
