A very mild, delicate and nutty flavour for a Brussel sprout of very ornamental value. An unusual vegetable that is very versatile and adaptable in shorter seasons. Being a member of the Brassica family, this variety prefers cool and moist soil. The colour will darken and the sprouts will sweeten as the fall cold weather approaches. It can withstand a light dusting of snow and light frost. Disease tolerant and hardy.
It can be started/seeded in spring as transplants and will mature in the cooler weather of fall in the garden.. The sprouts can be eaten fresh, charbroiled for a gourmet side dish or frozen for later use during the winter months. We have heard that you can pickle this gem, but we haven't tried it just yet.
