Why we grow it? This shrub can grow 6 feet tall (must be pruned) and is a cross X hybrid between a gooseberry and a black current. It is more hardy, disease/pest resistant and more productive/larger berry size than standard black current varieties but with the true black current taste. Eureka!
It has survived on our farm in the coldest of winters and the hot/driest of summers. A very resilient variety.
Berries used for jams, sauces, wine and high oxidant juicing.
You cannot buy black currents in our local grocery stores, you have to grow it yourself!
