This variety is a beautiful Japanese heirloom winter squash. The fruit starts out dark green but matures with a smoky pale orange patina. The skin is bumpy and edible. The flesh is bright orange with a sweet fruity flavour. A favourite.
Grows to 3-5 lbs. pounds and can store for months in a cool cellar or pantry.
Start seeds in mid May to transplant out to warm fertile garden soil in full sun.
