Super Sheppard won FIRST at the Canadian National Exhibition 2018 & 2019 for best elongated red sweet pepper......and it tastes great too! The fruit can sometimes reach 8 inches with a thin skin. One of the earliest sweet peppers, 75 days from transplant depending on the weather. It's a standby for us and hard to believe that they were field grown. Our customers ask us for this one every year.
Tip: Start pepper seedlings in late February to early March for transplanting in early June in warm soil. Pepper transplants will not be productive in cold soils. Be patient. Warm and fertile soil in raised beds will do wonders for pepper production.
