We have found only one population of this species north of the Black River in Ontario. All parts are edible. The plant/vine grows to approx. 8' feet, are either male or female and flourish in full sun or part shade requiring support. Soil requirements can be rocky or loamy with a mulch to keep roots cool and maintain moisture. Seed germination requires some patience & experience. Seed should be treated with peroxide and stratified for a min. of 3 months. We have kept the dried pulp over the seed in order to keep it fresh. Fruit/seeds were collected Oct. 2017.
