Peach-Reliance Peach

Reliance Peach is one of the hardiest varieties developed in 1964 in New Hampshire.  An excellent freestone peach with red-blushed, yellow skin, sweet, yellow flesh. Ideal for fresh eating, canning and freezing.  Self-fertile but more production when planted close to another cultivar such as Redhaven or Harrow Diamond. Recommended chill: 800 - 900 hours. Deciduous. Plant in a sheltered area or micro-climate and mulch heavily to delay the flowers from opening to avoid early spring frost.

Canadian Hardiness Zone: 5 & ripens August depending on your location.

Soil type & location: Deep clay loam or sandy loam in a well drained site and sunny location

Growth Habits and Disease Resistance:  Grafted onto hardy dwarf rootstock.  It has some resistance to common leaf curl.
