Developed in the 1930's in Michigan state when winters were a lot more colder than they are now.
Pollination: Self-fertile but more production when planted close to another cultivar such as Reliance or Harrow Diamond. Recommended chill: 800 - 900 hours. Deciduous. Plant in a sheltered area or micro-climate.

Soil type & location: Deep clay loam or sandy loam in a well drained site and sunny location
