Peach-Redhaven

Excellent freestone peach with red skin and firm, sweet, yellow flesh. Ideal for fresh eating, canning and freezing. Medium to large fruit depending on care.

Flowers late which helps to avoid those late spring frosts which could freeze the flowers.

Developed in the 1930's in Michigan state when winters were a lot more colder than they are now. 

Pollination: Self-fertile but more production when planted close to another cultivar such as Reliance or Harrow Diamond. Recommended chill: 800 - 900 hours. Deciduous. Plant in a sheltered area or micro-climate.

Canadian Hardiness Zone: 5 & ripens mid August depending on your location.

Soil type & location: Deep clay loam or sandy loam in a well drained site and sunny location

Growth Habits and Disease Resistance: Bred for the organic gardener with dependable yields. Grafted onto hardy dwarf rootstock. 

It has resistance to bacterial leaf spot and peach curl which can be a problem in humid wet climates.
