St. John's Wort (Wild crafted)

Hypericum perforatum is a perennial herb in zone 4. It grows wild here on our farm. Very adaptable genetics for gardens and marginal lands.

St. John's Wort has been used medicinally for herbal anti-anxiety and anti-depressive remedies.

It also has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. In the Middle Ages the herb was hung in the home to ward off evil spirits. We harvest the herb for drying at all stages of the plant cycle. It is a care free garden plant.

Sow seeds in March to transplant out to the garden in late May or early June. The seeds must have light to initiate germination and will germinate in 12-20 days.

Fresh seed harvested from 2022 season.
